Our now almost 3-year old son has been going to NES for the last 8 months and has absolutely thrived at this school. The teachers he gets to spend time with everyday are wonderful in every way and are so kind and helpful to both he and us as parents. The activities and curriculum they provide have helped him grow in so many ways and it’s just been awesome to see how excited he is every morning to go see Ms. Wallace, Ms. Jasmine, and Ms. Kayla. I can’t recommend this school enough for anyone considering Montessori for their child. It’s just wonderful.

Our son has been part of NES Alexandria for the past three years, and it’s been a truly wonderful journey. From the very beginning, we were impressed by the warmth of the teachers and the thoughtfully designed curriculum that encourages independence, creativity, and a genuine love of learning. We've watched our son grow into a confident, curious, and compassionate little person, and so much of that is thanks to the care and support he’s received here. The teachers really take the time to understand each child and nurture them in a way that’s both gentle and empowering. We are so grateful for these early foundational years and cannot recommend this school enough to other families looking for a nurturing and inspiring place for their children.

We love NES — the teachers are all so kind, communicative and our son talks about them all of the time when he’s home! Truly such a wonderful program with multiple daily updates and photos of the lessons and playtime, which we appreciate immensely. We’re grateful our son has such a nurturing environment to learn and grow!

We have really loved our experience at Northeast Stars Montessori over the past 3 years. The teachers at Northeast Stars are incredible and foster a nurturing environment. My kids have truly grown through their experience there and have learned so many things. The mixed age classroom experience is truly excellent! It helped my children develop better social and developmental skills. I can't recommend Northeast Stars enough :)

My kids have been at Northeast Stars for a combined 4 years and we have been so happy with our experience. It's hard to drop off your "babies", but all the teachers made them feel so loved and welcome, that I never walked away feeling worried. My kids had so much fun doing the various inside activities and venturing outside for a walk, park activity, or playground, whenever the weather allowed. Throughout their time there they learned so many things (from how to properly greet someone, pushing in their chair, to writing their name) and were ready for their next educational adventure after they "graduated". I would definitely recommend them :-)

We are incredibly pleased with our experience with NES for the last three years (school years and summer camps). The incredible teachers are the heart of this school; their dedication, passion, and individualized approach fosters a nurturing environment where every child can thrive. The mixed-age classroom at NES enriches the learning experience by allowing children to learn from one another, which has been invaluable for our son's growth and development. We've seen our son blossom with confidence over the years at NES - it’s evident he loves the hands-on learning opportunities, freedom to explore different subjects/work at his own pace, and forming lovely friendships with his peers. NES offers a variety of extracurriculars, as well - like music class, gymnastics, and soccer.NES offers a variety of scheduling options to accommodate each family’s unique needs - this includes 2 day/week or 3 day/week options and drop in after care as needed. We recommend NES to any family in search of a nurturing and enriching Montessori preschool experience!

Our daughter started attending NES mid-year after a change in schedules with our nanny. She was just two and we were worried about the transition. The teachers were so helpful and supportive of our transition. Our daughter really loves school and has continued to flourish. She is also attending summer camp. We love all that she is learning and the great teaching staff. They truly care about the children.

Our first child was with NES in Alexandria from when he turned two until kindergarten, and we now have our second and third children at NES. The school has been incredibly accommodating, allowing us to move between part-time and full-time as our work schedules have changed. This is incredibly unusual in the Alexandria area, and it is so nice to have the "personal touch" and understanding.More importantly, the lead teachers - Ms. Jenkins and Ms. Booker - are amazing with children. They have precisely the right balance of attentive care, firm leadership, and kindness that means so much to children, and our children have flourished. For example, our eldest was a shy, non-verbal child. During his time at NES, he flourished into a chatty kid who was fully ready for kindergarten. Our younger two children are undergoing similar transformations with readily apparent increases in confidence, life skills, and general early learning (e.g., letters, numbers, colors).

Our kids love Northeast Stars! The school is flexible and great for working parents, and the teachers are great. Our kids come home with knowledge about planets, the weather, and other cultures that even we don't know!
